After a one-year hiatus, Luftwasser returned earlier this month to celebrate Porsche’s history and lineage in Malaysia.
Since its inception in 2024, Luftwasser has established itself as Southeast Asia’s largest dedicated Porsche event. All models are welcome, from classic air-cooled cars to modern water-cooled offerings – hence the name, which combines the German words for air (Luft) and water (Wasser). The lineup included factory-original cars, projects, art cars, race cars, RWBs, RUFs, and more. There was something for every kind of Porsche enthusiast.
The 2026 event was held at the LYL International Karting Circuit, a visually stunning venue framed by mountains and greenery. Porsches in the golden-hour light? Mwuahhh, chef’s kiss.
This year’s highlight had to be the 911 GT3 R Rennsport, displayed on the crossover bridge against the hazy Selangor skyline. A Singer DLS and a 918 Spyder were also on display that morning, but I arrived late and sadly missed the two icons.
For me, and probably for you too, cars are more than transportation; they’re something magical that brings people together. And Luftwasser definitely did that. Not just for Porsche enthusiasts, but for car enthusiasts as a whole, both from Malaysia and from across international borders. Several owners from Thailand and Singapore even brought their cars over for the event, showing some serious dedication to the Porsche brand.
Props to the team behind Luftwasser. The event never fails to amaze me, and I really hope to attend more of them in the future. I’d highly recommend any Porsche fans planning a trip to Malaysia to time their visit with Luftwasser – the next one really can’t come soon enough.
