Every year, my favorite event comes to life right here at home, in Chicago: Checkeditout.

At the place where my automotive photography journey began three years ago, things came full circle this year: I got to work with the team behind the event.

The Chicago car scene may not be as well-known or as large as those in other major U.S. cities, but thanks to some creative minds, I’m confident that’s starting to change.

Lowend Garage Chicago is the hub of our ‘Windy City’ automotive community and has a deep care and appreciation for its culture, art, and enthusiasts. Importantly, it runs Checkeditout as its biggest event.

What started as a gathering of Porsches in 2018 has grown into an annual event where hundreds of vehicles come together to share in the love. This year’s event was the exclamation point: more than 400 Porsches assembled in Chicago’s industrial West Loop district.

Stunning builds from Singer Vehicle Design, classic offerings from the likes of Graham Rahal Performance and Animoya Garage, and enthusiast builds from in and out of the state – they were all here for Checkeditout 2026.

What I love more than the cars is the community and culture behind them, and Lowend Garage Chicago and Checkeditout do an amazing job capitalizing on that. Their hard work never goes unnoticed.

These are the events I look forward to: a great car scene and even greater people, building memories and capturing them. I really couldn’t ask for a better job.
