Have you ever wondered what it’s like to take delivery of one of Porsche’s most exclusive race cars? A Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport, to be exact?
I always assumed these things were done in privacy, maybe at a Porsche dealership of your choice, or even as low-key as an unmarked, covered trailer turning up at your mansion with a real expensive haul inside.
Porsche’s Leipzig facility is both their Germany experience center as well as one of their biggest factories, all on the one ground. Paired with their FIA certified, world class, it makes for the ideal location to take delivery of, and test drive your brand new GT3R Rennsport.
With all formalities and a good 30 minutes of lapping the circuit, Porsche actually gave the all clear for us to park the car up on a few of the main corners.
Not often you get one of Porsche’s most iconic cars backdropped with one of their most iconic venues.
A lot of these cars will more than likely end up mostly undriven in hidden collections, but not this one. Straight from delivery to killing bugs – as Porsche intended.
Keeping this coverage short and sweet, because my time with the Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport is far from over. From here it’s onwards to a very special circuit in the south of Spain.
just WOW! Im so glad that this rennsport is being used on track, and look forward to the article coming out of Spain! Thank you Alec
Thanks Xander! Completely agree, love seeing the car used as intended.
this thing is dope! Love it
Work of art. Alec you’re killing it!
Thank you!
What a machine! Awesome pics Alec!
Thanks for sharing, such an awesome track weapon!
That must’ve been an amazing experience collecting a very special 911 from the mothership… and racing it around the factory track is icing on the cake! Someday one day, I dream of having a European Delivery 911.
Hi Alec,
What camera setup did you use for the feature ? Nice article !
Great photos. The car looks fantastic in that livery, and I’m glad the owner will use it properly instead of hiding it in a garage!
