I’ve covered the RAYS Fan Meeting for four years now, and it never disappoints. The free event at Fuji Speedway is a celebration of all things RAYS, drawing fans of the iconic Japanese wheel brand from across Japan and further abroad. If your car sits on RAYS wheels, you’re welcome to sign up and bring it along for the annual festivities.

For the 2026 event held mid-April, over 800 cars filled Fuji Speedway’s P7 parking lot from early in the morning, quickly creating an impressive sight. It’s something you have to see with your own eyes to really comprehend, but hopefully this post gives you some idea of the event’s scale.

Ever since I began documenting Japanese car culture, the passion for RAYS wheels has blown me away. This was evident as I paced up and down the rows of parked cars, seeing everything from the iconic Volk Racing designs of the 1980s and ‘90s, which are still sought after by many, to the latest RAYS offerings, engineered using the most cutting-edge forging and production methods.

What really strikes you about the RAYS Fan Meeting is the diversity on show. Across all of its sub-brands, including Volk Racing, Gram Lights, Versus, Homura, Team Daytona, and more, RAYS produces wheels for a vast array of vehicles – from race cars at the upper echelon of motorsport to off-road rigs to JDM kei cars – and it’s all on display at this event.

There were standouts, of course, and I have to make special mention of the Daihatsu Minica-based panel van, the slammed Range Rover Velar, and the absolutely mind-blowing number of Subaru Imprezas of every generation.

At the center of the event was the RAYS demo car area, and that’s where my G83 BMW M4 convertible was parked up next to two fully-kitted ADRO builds – the Korean bodykit maker’s GR86 and a new addition to its Japan-side demonstration fleet – a GR Yaris.

I’m working on a multi-part story on my journey with the M4, chronicling the different steps I’ve taken with all the partners who have come on board to help make it look like a proper BMW. That includes RAYS, which provided one of only a few sets of polished 20-inch Volk Racing TE37 Saga S-Plus wheels in Japan. In the year that RAYS celebrates the TE37’s 30th anniversary, that’s something super special.

The same goes for Alec’s AE86, which was sitting pretty on its new set of TE37V Spec-SRs.

In addition to the demo cars, there was also a display of race cars right in front of the main stage, where two lottery draws took place. RAYS’ president and staff gave away merch, and the grand prize – a new set of wheels for one lucky winner.

And it wouldn’t be a RAYS event without a wall of wheels, and every model that the company manufactures was on display – a spectacle in itself.

If you’re unsure which RAYS wheels to choose, the annual Fan Meeting is undoubtedly the best place to see them. If Japan is a bit far for you to travel, though, check out the extended gallery below – and my video here – for all the RAYS inspiration you’ll ever need.
